Pros
Amazon echoes sound great even through bluetooth. They seem to punch above their weight. You have true stereo- speaker separation.
I like the connecting cable that terminates in robust connectors rather than just stripped zip cord. The connection from right to left speaker is propietary. It responds quickly, but like most controllers, nothing really much to say.
The look is really * and appealing too. The knobs have a great click feedback as you turn them. Well built and packed well.
Overall sound is excellent especially in midrange and bass. Very crisp treble and bass is adequate for a smaller room.
Cons
Highs are distorted and shrill. Volume surges back and forth in a repeated pattern that is disorienting to listen to. I'm uncertain if this was an issue with the wire or if i got one faulty speaker.

The sound quality is excellent & the remote is handy.
The sound quality, build, and functionality are all top-notch.
I listen to music while working long hours when the office is closed and no one is bothered.
It's tiny and cheap-feeling and has to be pointed right at the speakers.
Price
Not mind blowing sound as you would expect from $500 plus speakers, but really really good for the price.
I was also surprised by the width of the sound stage these provide at their price level.
The subwoofer out for only $10 more than the ones without it is worth it, imo.
1 which were very good especially for price.

Competitiveness
My main speakers are klipsche reference series and these rival them in fullness and balance.
No, this combination does not rival the highest quality audiophile systems.
(i compared it directly with a marshall stanmore iii all-in-one speaker, and this was much better.
There are more expensive options, but i doubt i could tell the difference.

Just in case you havent found this in the other reviews the tb version does not come with the option to add a powered subwoofer the tbs does
