Pros
Buy a pair of the pangea cables, and just for fun compare them with the standard stuff. They aren't to expensive, they look great, and sound dang good! Hooked these up to a victrola 8 in 1 combo unit.

Sound is crisp and clear. Turning the base knob up a little and setting the equalizer to vocal really brought the sound to life.
Cons
Speakers distort at louder volumes. No trebles, bass is absolutely unimpressive. Works well only with equalizer when bass and trebles +12.
The sound quality is very mediocre. I get more clarity from an old $15 ipod dock, which is pretty pathetic. The sound is ok but it does not compare very favorably to a set of logitech s220 2.
Edifier is complete chinese junk. Buy american-made.

Easy to use good quality and easy to adjust the sound
Qulaity build and great sound for intended use (l/r desktop speakers connected to a pc).
The two inputs are not buffered, simply wired in parallel so you could have some issues with two sources connected.
Supplement with a subwoofer and you'll have a very nice setup for a small room at moderate volume.
Price
The price is as good as the sound and i love it
Only down side is they were cheaper on prime day
Competitiveness
5" wide - but i've tried smaller (different brands) and they all sounded like crap.

I would say the high end is a little harsh

I was hoping for avaeage low end from this size speaker but even with bass control it seemed to produce less than my other speakers with much smaller footprints

The speaker terminals stick out like a sore thumb and add to the bulk

These will never rock the house but my primary use is for background music while im at my desk and for that they are kind of overkill but they were heavily discounted on prime day so i took a chance
