Pros & Cons
Pros
Edifier's w820nb plus over-ear active noise cancelling headphones are in a league of their own when it comes to noise cancellation and sound quality. The noise cancellation is top-notch, they block out most of the noise in my office, even when landsca... Read More
These are lighter and more comfortable so i can wear them for a few hours. They're comfortable enough to wear for hours without a headache and secure enough to move around in.
The bluetooth connection process is easy and works well. Its amazing bluetooth connectivity with ldac technology. The pairing was easy, the building quality seems excellent, the sound quality good, and noise cancelling excellent.
The sound quality goes above and beyond, providing rich and immersive audio that will surprise you. Sony - again sounds almost muffled by comparison to the edifier - but the balance makes it actually more enjoyable.
Cons
Default equalizer settings aren't great if you like bass. There's only four equalizer presets with no way to just disable the equalizer entirely. The cushions are comfortable, but not for long sessions since after just two hours i was ready to take th... Read More
Highlights
Quality
These are great sound quality and comfy!
The sound quality is remarkably crisp and detailed, with rich bass and well-balanced tones.
The quality seems to be top-notch and when i put them on - the entire world was shut out.
The rest of the headphones are made of a hard plastic that looks and feel cheap.
Price
These were surprisingly good for the price.
Overall these are brilliant for the price.
At the time of writing this review, the price of these headphones was $67.
Both retail for right around $80, though it's worth watching for sales and coupons to save a few dollars.
Shipping
Pairing with a pocket hmusic player was quick and simple and the connection is reliable.
Packaging/appearance
I do wish it came with a soft storage bag.
I didn't need anything super high end and this newer offering from edifier seemed to check all the boxes.
Competitiveness
They work just as good as the top brands.
The edifier w820nb plus directly competes with the soundcore anker life q30, which i bought just over two years ago.
In this comparison i'm ranking them against the sony wh1000xm3, the samsung galaxy buds pro (not the pro2) and the edifier w820nb plus.
Nor do they perform as well as high end anc headphones offered from sony, sennheiser, and bose.
