The kit comes with a mini drill screw driver. The powered screwdriver is fun, but not totally required. The bolts are easy enough for a child to screw in by hand.
It gives them a sense of accomplishment. They get to feel proud of themselves at the end product, which gives satisfying results. It's a great skill for children to start developing, especially in this day and age.
Any toy that reinforces stem learning is a thumbs up for me. Got the hang of it immediately and loved completing each mission, one after the other, nonstop. Only minor downside is i have to be there supervising and reading each mission narrative.
This set does a great job of balancing science with fun. The designs are kid-oriented and the colors are bright and exciting. This one did not disappoint.
Cons

This comes with several “templates” and all the bits and pieces required to build the creation.
The cards feature a colorful background, with holes punched out for placement of the circuit components.
The circuits are already created on card that have the photo of pieces used, and shows where to use them.
