We ordered the ants with the info in the box ad followed all of the instructions and enjoyed them for more or less 2 months

The instructions are very detailed and there is a card for ordering ants by mail if you don’t have any of your own in your yard

While it is designed for kids 5 years and older i think most farm and homesteading kids already know enough about all kinds of bugs by the time they are 3 that they wouldn’t try to let them go

If you are worried about ants escaping carefully put the entire farm in the refrigerator for a few minutes but never for more than five minutes

The ants will become extremely sluggish from the cold giving you enough time to quickly feed and water them before replacing the top

I think the habitat needs to be better design because its hard to give them water without drowning them
