This not only fascinates my niece, but also her 2-year-old sister. It seems to be a good stem project for preschoolers since we are all in the pandemic lockdown. It's seriously so fun to come home every day and check to see what they're working on!

This is a nice little habitat for them, i really like that you don't have to feed or water them, so convenient. The supplier responded very quickly and sent me a new habitat with fresh gel.

Cons

The ants fall and crawl down the sides and then can't climb back up! The barely tunneled at all, like one half inch tunnel. You get a coupon but it's only like a $1 or $2 discounts. Do not buy.

Purchase a packet of gel refill. Scrape out the current gel. It seems strange to have excessive humidity during the winter when the rest of us are using lip balm and lotion like crazy.

It is plastic and the lid doesn't fit tightly, so i worried about ants getting out but they never did.

Price

For the money, this was a great bargain.

This one was definitely worth the low cost though, great starter ant farm!

Gave up on cleaning it out because of the price i could always buy another.

Shipping

The ants arrived promptly after using the coupon online.

We asked for them to come just prior to christmas and they arrived 3 days before the 25th, perfect!

For us, they came a little over a month after the payment was sent.

I bought this for my kids and we aren't able to use it because our state (oregon) doesn't allow the shipment of live ants.

Competitiveness

Compared to ant farms where you have to put food in (which is what i grew up with) this is great.
