Pros & Cons
Pros
This is a toy- not exactly scientifically accurate or the most sturdy and we'll built- but it's more than sufficient. No issues so far, after two months. It’s more robust than i thought it would be.
Rocky planets rotate slightly faster than gas giants. Requires about 32” (est) free space to rotate but can be set as a stationary model. The planets revolve fine. My 11-year-old autistic grandson especially loves it.
Cons
Second time i will be returning it with full refund. Order this defective product at your peril. Seller sends same, opened, not-functioning items to those 10 silly people who bought the model.
The motors that rotate the two groups of planets are weirdly loud. If you attach the planets first then it is very difficult to install the batteries. A couple of times of attaching and removing them causes the socket to come loose. Never powered on.
Toy is being marketed as a stem learning toy for ages 8+. They're more likely to unlearn accurate information. I'm not sure what geological period it's trying to depict, but it ain't present day.
Highlights
Quality
It is very good, the material is very good, great for kids rooms!
My autistic granboy loves all things solar system and this model is perfect!
(edit: it has already broke after 1 use.
This toy has two engines to rotate upper and lower part of the solar system, that gives two different speeds to the planets, not 8!
Price
It’s an incredible value with the constellation night light too, which turns itself off to save batteries.
This toy was very simplistic for the price paid.
The moon would be great if it can stand apart from the earth i would recommend at a lower price point.
Not a perfect representation of the solar system, but a great value for the money and best motorized solar system model i could find.
