This interactive storybook set is great for both of my kids to use. My six-year old loves the interactive aspect of the books with the dog device. The kids really seems to enjoy the colours of the book and adore the pen.
The kit comes with 4 activity books and a dog shaped learning pen. Each book has an area that it goes through and the pen gives right or wrong statements when touching a circle. Luckily the extra books/activities are not overly expensive.
The dog makes cute sounds and occasionally wiggles when the right answer is selected. She loves, loves, love the fact that the pen is a dog!
Our 5 year old grandson enjoys playing with this and doesn't even know he is learning. My 4 year old is very intrigued. Think it's very good for super hyper and active 4year olds.

Good work to do with the children.
We had a lot of fun learning with the hot dots books.
By the way, i'd like this toy a little more if it came with the two aaa batteries that the pen needs.
Price
Overall the price is great on this item, makes a great stocking stuffer and i plan on purchasing more for our younger cousins.

You can literally take it out of the packaging and get started.
Competitiveness
I keep this at my house for a 4-year old boy who plays over here frequently.

Its recommended for kids 36 but kids on the younger end of that spectrum will need a little guidance

However this one doesnt read to you and only looks for the dots on the page

He understands that if he looks at the bottom of the page it will show him what hes supposed to be looking for letters certain shapes which comes next but since he cant read he just touches every dot on the page
