The surface of the stamps the part that gets inked and touches the paper isnt consistently smooth

There are a few stamps that have indents in the surface and those indentsmarks get transferred to the paper

However some of the letters that have lines in the middle as in h or m or w or a do not hold ink well in the middle area of these letters

I feel like they are too big to fit into the mouth of a young child although im not an expert at that so you would have to decide for yourselves
