Pros & Cons
Pros
Charging using the turbo charger is really quick. Charging the battery from dead with the supplied charger takes an hour. The included + spare battery makes it all the way through a 1/3 acre city lot with room to spare.
Ego might pay the best for the affiliate links so they always rate them as the best. Easy to install in the lawn mower. Recommended to buy or upgrade.
Mower is quieter than a gas mower. Mulching performance is on par with my toro. One area of improvement is for the mulching blade to generate more vacuum.
Easy to start compared to combustion engines. One annoyance is that periodically the electric drive engages while i am using it in push mode and acts like a brake. This mainly happens when turning at the end of a swath.
quality of cut due to dual blades + the 8. Additional blades provided is nice. Fewer stray blades. This select cut feature actually is indeed better than single blade.
Cons
This mower just leaves full length clippings and doesn’t cut evenly when the grass gets even slightly long. It also slows way down in tall grass so we mowed a lot more frequently. It leaves the grass completely uneven.
Customer service reps lie to get you off the phone, but no one does anything to fix the problem. They do some shoddy troubleshooting, have nothing positive to say about the ego products. Take the unit to home depot's rental center.
The mower deck raises an inch in the back when you engage the self-propelled…then lowers an inch when you disengage it. The torque is obnoxious as well, as it wheelies at the push of a button instead of easing into it.
This is absolutely unacceptable. Less than 3 weeks past the warranty for my $800 lawn mower. It is useless.
Amazon customer service taking quite a bit of time to answer the phone to process the return (within 30 days of delivery) it just feels like it wasn't fully tested before they started selling it. Ego customer service is a call center, very likely a 3r... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Found the minimal assembly , ease of use, the battery life and the overall performance of the mower just as the producer advertises 👍
Relatively light, maneuverable and powerful enough to cut new sod with plenty of battery life left.
- battery compartment is not water resistant even.
I bought an ego trimmer from ace, and i have to say, it’s super uncomfortable and heavy to use and wouldn’t recommend it.
Price
If you’re gonna afford the extra money as well worth looking at this product.
If you can't afford it, wait save up, then buy one.
I just wish the prices were better.
I agonized over the price of this mower, then i decided it was time.
Shipping
I received this mower 1 day ago and charged the battery quickly.
Packaging/appearance
Unpacking a folded lawn mower can be a bit intimidating.
Competitiveness
So far so good mowed my lawn twice lasted longer than the other brand and great battery life as well
- bagging is better compared to previous ego.
The only comparable version in terms of torque will be 2042sp version, however sacrifice will be the battery amps.

The plastic deck poly carbonate or otherwise i don’t think it’s the best thing for a mower deck

Also the shaft which holds the blade on the bottom looks fairly thin compared to a regular engine mower

And short this mower would be great for a normally wellkept lawn with that lots of debris in the grass like rocks or toys or anything else

If you have a rough one like out in the country or somewhere where there are lots of toys or other debris that can hit the blade i feel that it would only be a matter of time that the shaft would be knocked out of alignment

Also the pinging i hear when something in the lawn hits the deck no matter how small it is concerns me
