This book was well researched and carefully crafted to sort out legend and conjecture from documented facts. A short read, but very informative easy read.
Eleanor roosevelt is a tantalizing figure for historians. A nicely written factual account of a life spent basically undocumented by her contemporaries. I was assigned a book on eleanor my freshman year of college and becatm enthralled with her.

I did not know anything about eleanor of aquitaine outside of the wonderful lion in winter wherein she was played by katharine hepburn most likely a woman not unlike eleanor herself

Turns out there really wasnt much to know so the playwright had free rein to create eleanor as they needed her to be

Possibly this creation was not too far off the reality but the fact of the matter is that there is so little in the historical record to paint eleanor as a living breathing human being that we really cant know who she was or how she went about being that person
