It is a little pricy, but if you want something good, you might have to pay a little more for it.
The elecom red trackball replacement glides the smoothest and is more silent then the perixx and m570 balls. A perfect sphere, with no issues, performs wonderfully for 8 hour days.

Logitech's quality is usually really good, but the mx ergo's stock ball is scratchy and doesn't look all that great.
If you have one of the stock ex-g balls and are frustrated with the lack of accuracy then i highly recommend getting this.
Price
And the price is fantastic - you won't be disappointed.
The original elecom silvery grey ball may look nice, but it is waaaaaaaaay toooooo inaccurate and overly sensitive.

However it sticks when idle, hence the 1-star removal.

Bought this replacement ball for an older elecom x1 and it gives it new life!
After reading comments, i went ahead and ordered this with a new left-handed elecom trackball, and glad i did.
Still too cheap to buy a case,the red track ball is holding up nicely.
I have had several elecom trackball (wired m-xt3urbk) mice over the past several years and really like them.

Im a huge fan of elecoms huge and deft pro rollerball mice but being a mac user at work software support is kind of hit or miss mostly miss sometimes just finding the software is a tough hunt and it fails often requiring a reboot

I managed to put a pit in the trackball that came with my logitech mx ergo mouse and it kept getting hung up on the rollers inside the mouse and was basically driving me bonkers

I actually looked in to some discussions concerning different color balls in trackball mice before purchasing and find they are very correct when it comes to color
