Pros & Cons
Pros
The amount of programmable * makes my work life so much better. It needs one more button for your pinky though, why wouldn't they put one there? The scroll wheel is a push-down to click button but also a left and right 'lean' button.
Logitech m570 is a fantastic mouse. You can pop in most rechargeable aa battery's and it just works without having to tamper very much with it. There seem to be several fake reviews commenting on battery consumption of bluetooth mice.
Elecom 8 bottom function trackball is ergonomically designed. It takes a bit of setting up, and has about a 1-2 week break in period where the trackball gradually gets smoother for use. It's a personal preference thing, but something that makes me als... Read More
Used it in both mac and windows environments after configuring it with the included software. A little dated in terms of layout / design, but it works just fine to configure its use.
There is absolutely no stickiness and so precision movements are not hindered. The trackball glides nicely and the extra * are a really nice touch. Ratcheting scroll wheel feels pretty good.
Cons
Trackball has a multi second long delay before it responds if you haven't used it for a while. The usb connector is recessed and seems to be unstable. The bluetooth connection to my dell e7440 is not very good and highly choppy. Even logitech m570 for... Read More
The installer states it's deleting the program. Another and more frustrating issue is the lack of support for this product via updates. Consistently there were also creases in the box as if it were opened then reclosed.
The software to customize * looks like it was made on w2k and hasn't been updated since. The ability to scroll with any kind of resolution or without high levels of concentration is not possible. If you click down two times quickly it will just start ... Read More

Shipping
They sent me a new trackball within 3 days.
Packaging/appearance
I was impressed with the packaging, which was almost completely in japanese, which is where elecom is based.
The trackball comes in a nice box with fold-out descriptions of everything, a nice thick pamphlet that explains everything - it... Read More
I had to return the one before that because it came out of the package with a spot that would catch in the scroll wheel.
Competitiveness
Wish more companies made track balls far superior to moving your whole hand with conventional mice.
It is huge compared to the sanwa so if you have small hands maybe go the next model down.
I only use it for work but have tried it for non competitive games.
