One side of the bedspread is soft and velvet like. This is the softest, fluffiest, most comfortable blanket i have ever had. I live in the midwest where winters are cold. This comforter is like sleeping under a cloud.

The pillow shams are also king size so you need to make adjustments if you need queen sized instead. Stitching on mine looked really good. Hollers! Love it and was thinking of buying another for my other beds.

The blanket is very shiny, and came coated in some sort of a grease that feels * on your hands. Lost its softness in about month. It is now uncomfortable to lay underneath it, but it is actually pretty lightweight.
