Pros & Cons
Pros
Really enjoying this series. Unlike most stories in the genre this one spends a lot of time dealing with the science involved. The continued growth of the “paras’ leaves room for a never ending story, if the author would so wish.
What is exceptionally enjoyable is the infected. Great escapism from driving my kids to school and their activities. The creativity and eye for the big picture is superb!

The further you stretch out in the storyline books 7 you might even find a whole book where the characters pass a horde in their cars or the “the odor of the zombies that forever surround their gates constantly permeates the air” simple mentions such as these but no real substance

The author used up all his or her imagination in this area in the first few books it often seems like

Specifically due to the fact that the characters also include the infected

I may only be considering this here in volume 3 because the infected are now truly advancing from semiunconscious beings to fully sentient

I’ve seen other books attempt this but it’s been too forced
