Firmness
Customers who have purchased the EMOOR Japanese Tri-fold Futon Mattress are generally positive about its firmness. Some find it perfect for those with back pain due to its extra firmness, while others suggest it could be a bit thicker and softer for optimal comfort. The mattress is praised for providing excellent support without bottoming out and being a hybrid between traditional futon and western mattresses in terms of thickness and portability.

Highlights
Quality
Pros:-good quality and nicely firm just as claimed.
So thickness and cushiness of western mattress and still portability of futon, and also ability to air it outside in nice warm weather.
-expands in its entirety within a few hours if you air it outside.
No funky smell and the stitching looks like they really know how to build them to last.
Shipping
Luckily we caught it in time and the mildew stains have gone and not come back.
Packaging/appearance
Cons:-upon opening, there's a slight chemical smell that took a couple days to dissipate.

I have chronic lower back pain and the majority of mattresses i try make it hard to sleep because after a few months they will start to sink even a little in the center

I recommend this mattress for someone looking for an extra firm bed it still has some give but the 185n and 30d mean it is stiff

It is not a sinking feeling like memory foam but rather a bouncy feeling

A japanese style sleep emoor is based in japan but this mattress specifically is far more like the modern style of value futons you find in japan because of the lower maintanence needs and better sturdiness than a traditional cotton futon

Not a mattress topper so many 34futons34 in the us are just mattress toppers

If it can be used as a mattress topper it is definitely not firm enough to act as a bed on the floor or on a frame

Side note the newton and density ratings are systems used in japan
