Quality

Outstanding writing, captivating world building, great characters.

The world building has been solid throughout this series.

There’s no warmth to be found in these books but the faux warmth of an incandescent light found by chance in a grubby basement.

I was getting nervous - only thirty pages to wrap this up and things did not look good.

Price

I still think the early parts of the trilogy relied too much on shock value, the doom of dark fantasy.

Competitiveness

Others might've strung it out, we might've got another drizzt here, but mark gives us a closing worthy of jorg.

Book three definitely felt a bit larger than the first two as jorg travels the world for his backing to become emperor though
