I works as expected and the batteries hold well depending on play time with my xbox 1 there are times i dont have to charge it for a day or two the charge indicators dont seem to match up with what the console shows on screen but that is not a big issue when charging they do charge the included controller batteries fast that is what surprised me and i have not noticed the controllers heating up as the batteries charge

If the tv is off the controllers will not charge that is if the batteries are depleted on both xbox 1 controllers not sure if this a factory defect or intended seeing that i have had no problems as of yet i have held off contacting the manufacture i purchased a new power strip that also has two rows of outlets and is also surge protected i will update this as needed once i switch out the power strip

I like them because its a rechargable battery and when it gets low you can plug it in and play wired without the need to stop gaming to charge the controller or the need to swap in some regular batteries while it charges

I always liked that system and i would say if you only have one controller then i would stick with that kind of charging
