In my opinion it should be beveled at the edges so that it doesnt feel as if it digging into your wrist while in use

I really like the height of and feel of the foam pad which is a pleasant surprise because i assumed this to be a negative issue for me

It has a black leathery look to it it feels sort of like a firmish memory foam you can press down hard and it goes back to its original shape quickly
