This is a really great product, generally speaking everything is as advertised, but the lid has to be a mass manufacturing defect.

We were spending about $100 a month on bottled water for our family of three.
Its not the cheapest water filter available but it seems worth the money for me.

I never timed it but i would estimate with a new filter and my very mineral laden well water it filters a full pitcher of water in about 20 minutes
