Pros & Cons
Pros
This pick holder is the neatest little gadget! It’s a kidney bean shaped rubber suction cup with the ernie ball embossed along one side. It is a solid one-piece molded silicone unit.
It will last a long time with a modicum of care in its use. Well, this solves that. One drawback is that you have to be careful taking it off.
It attaches with suction to the body of the guitar, holding firmly enough to hold a pick. It attaches to any guitar surface without marring the finish.
The pick buddy is a cheap solution if you want to keep your pick stuck to your guitar during a show. You can store your pick while you're finger picking a verse, and then quickly go back to grabbing your pick for strumming out a chorus.
Cons
The ernie ball pick buddy is basically just a rubber suction cup. The key to getting this pick holder to stick, is to moisten the suction cups. It eventually falls off.
I prefer guitars with non-glossy finishes, so maybe that's my downfall. One has a clear gloss finish and one does not. Rough wood, seams, matte finishes - not so much.
Highlights
Quality
This product works well on my acoustic guitar.
Wished they came in 6packs like another product often popular with the boys in the band.
Worry no more with the ernie ball pick buddy.
Personally, i think i'd rather stick with the microphone stand-based pick buddies.
Competitiveness
Works on my guitars with a untextured pick guard without scratches where stuck.

They only thing is if your pick guard is real beat up the seal wont be quite as good and it may fall off once and awhile and also be warned never never never put one of these directly on the wood of a guitar
