Pros

Ernie ball ukulele strings w/low g, ebony wood nut and bridge, luna concert uke. This pack comes with practically 2 sets of strings! As you trade some of the traditional ukulele sound, i absolutely love the low g as it enabled more guitar like sounds ...  Read More

These ernie balls have a great tone that pulls the most out of my soprano ukulele. They take a fair amount of time to stretch out, but they stay in tune longer and sound better than the aquila strings my instrument came with.

Cons

They have a plasticity feel and made my ukulele sound like a plastic toy. They are very spongy and not loud enough to be heard. The black strings casting a shadow on the dark wood of my oscar *concert uke really made it difficult to play.

The instructions say for a slotted bridge to cut off the ball end and tie a knot - which defeats the purpose of buying ball end strings. Sticking to aquila strings. One of the 28 gauge strings that i received is definitely not black.

So easy to put on, theyre soft and dont hurt my fingers after a while like the strings that came on it, and they sound so much better!

They were terrible and i could never entirely stretch them out properly, always going out of tune.

) that didn't sound any better, plus the a string broke prematurely.

With the previous fluorocarbon strings it was just too snappy sounding

Interestingly i had a set on a high gloss solid mahogany tenor ukulele and i thought the sound was just ok

It’s important to note that it’s hard to call a string “bad” like reviewers often do when it’s just not the string set’s fault that it is poorly matched with the instrument

That being said it’s a crying shame that many of the instruments being sold these days come with the thick synthetic nylon marketed as similar to old school gut

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Sure those strings are durable and have good tuning stability but they are thick and stiff and the tone is often dull with a c string “thuds

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

That is not a flaw but the reality of nylon strings

Big bonus with these is the ball ends
