I recently misplaced my airpods and the find my app showed them located at my home but the notification function was not able to connect with them even though i had been very close to them while engaging the function

The magnet is fairly strong and doesn’t open when dropped which was an issue i previously had where my airpods would fly out of the case and scatter across the ground when dropped
