Cutting an actual hole out would have made the front lipedge of the case a useless thin string of material where the cut out was so thats probably the reason for that design decision

The air protection on the corners are really just two slight indentations in the plastic on each corner

One star removed because while my apple pencil still magnetically latched to the device it could not be recognized by the device with the case on unless i removed the protective silicon sleeve i previously had on my apple pencil
