Pros & Cons
Pros
The 4lb. Design and weight are both prefect for it’s job. Heavy and chops nice.
Heavy and sharp enough to split even larger peices of wood without needing to carry a full size ax or splitting maul. It almost effortlessly splits dry pine into kindling. For breaking up pine firewood into smaller pieces, it cuts it with ease.
The steel handle and tempered steel craftsmanship is at its best in this tool. Works as expected while camping and chopping wood. Made in usa is the icing.
This maul works well for me, a not strong senior female" "nice axe.
Cons
But the the shape is the head makes it much less effective than it should be. The head is more convex than concave so it's hard to get started in big pieces if wood.
