Pros & Cons
Pros
The maul design makes it easier to split kindling. The shear weight of this one makes all the difference. I use this to split wood by hand with the help of a mallet.
This is an insane tool, slightly heavy for the intended portage camping trips, but you will be glad to have packed it in. Easy to sharpen and no concerns about durability. The blunt side of the head is great for using as a mini sledge hammer as well.
