Pros & Cons
Pros
Well made, works well, sized right. Seems to hold up well to the conditions of our garage & the ocassional use as a make-shift hammer.
This tool is excellent for splitting the bigger chunks into more managable sizes. It is heavy enough to do some damage as a splitter, but comfortable and sharp enough to split into kindling.
Makes short work of splitting wood into manageable pieces. Also doubles as a drilling hammer for chisels and punches. Also makes for a descent mini sledge in a pinch.
Highlights
Quality
Very well made solid does the job
Excellent quality, metal handle, means never breaking like a wood handles can and will.
This tool makes splitting medium to small pieces of firewood simple and easy!
Didnt like this at first, the 4lb estwing drilling hammer left a couple dents in the top surface when smashing it through a stubborn log.
Price
Worth every penny you spend to buy this tool.
99 with no tax is even better!
Then you scroll down a little, and the exact same product is offered for just $27.
Also, am a little confused about the offers listed near the top of the product page that say "new from $38.
Shipping
We received in a very timely manner, and product was well packaged.
Packaging/appearance
If you are packing an axe or hatchet every camping trip pack one of these as well.
Was surprised to see an order sheet from home depot inside the box.
