Pros
Super durable. Estwing always makes a stromg,durable product. Much better than the one i purchased for my teenage grandson which was made in china.
It's not the best splitter, but it will serve the hiker/camper well. It will do everything from pounding in tent stakes to making kindling and feather sticks. This axe is so much better than a hatchet and much easier to wield.
Oil and sharpening are all it needs. I sharpen it once a year whether it needs it or not. Stays sharp with a sharpener.
This is perfect. Awesome for the price. Totally recommended. It's one of those things everybody should have. That matters now more then ever.
Cons
Don't buy this awesome axe at the gouged price. The hatchet was extremely dull, the blade has 3 small chip marks on it. While i like it and use it on my farm, it is anything but a camper's tool.
Very deceptive. Totally unsymmetrical. Sending the 2nd one back for refund. But do not buy it from here" "i really have no idea what some of the sterling reviews and the high ratings are talking about" "this thing is trash.
The handle is already pealing/ rubbing off before it has been used. The hammer part has scratch lines on it, quite a few, the blade has some minor chipping. The steel is so hard that it is brittle.

Price
Whether you are going to use it for camping or for splitting your firewood, it's well worth the price.
This one gets the “ best buy for the money award “ !
Not that paint matters but they could have done way better job for what it costs.
Shipping
First one arrived damaged , they sent me a new one within 2 days even before receiving the damaged one.
Shipping was good looking forward to using it
Packaging/appearance
Arrived dull as a butter knife so i can't chop with it but i have been able to use it to split.
Look at some images of the estwing alongside some more traditional axe heads and you'll see what i mean.
Competitiveness
I like the longer handle in comparison to other hatchets i’ve used before.
There are better axes on the market, but few that reach the value rating i'd give this axe.
It's long while the others seem short and squatty by comparison.

My only complaint is the paint rubbed off already just touching it and where barcode was it peeled off completely

They didnt do paint well at all in fact im gonna sand blast it off and give it the right coat

The handle grip is great doesnt feel like it will fall apart

It chops well especially for its weight takes an edge nicely and the steel handle is unphased by overstrikes while somehow not transmitting much vibration to your hands
