Pros & Cons
Pros
Good balance, handle fits hand without discomfort. Nice ergonomic bump in the handle grip and fits large palms well. I wish i could have found a lineman's hammer with a leather handle.
My chisels are happy now. They smile and nod and say, dang! The rubber quality is exceptional.
Hitting a wooden dowel is not going to damage this hammer. Put all the plastic parts in a ziplock bag and move any shelving units easily.
Cons
Then upon looking at other reviews they are glued onto a square piece of metal behind the head. It’s only a matter of time for this “permanent” connection to become not permanent anymore and is not replaceable.
This is engineered to fail. Pathetic quality control. Stop selling cheap junk.
Highlights
Quality
I used it for awhile and its sturdy and fits well in the hand overall great product
High quality soft hammer that will hold up long term.
Seriously, i've been pounding on sharp edge pvc fittings with this mallet for the past two months and haven't broken a fitting!
It also leaves little to no marks on aluminum doors and door frames which is what i use it for other ones were too rough and chipped easily
Price

These hammers can cost as much as $45 in hardware stores.
You definitely get what you pay for.
Competitiveness
I bought an estwing rock pick with a leather handle, but couldn't find any brand of lineman's hammer with leather.
Currently i am using it to set patio pavers and the softer red on the hf works better.
I had a craftsman mallet, but after craftsman went out of business, i could not find a similar 12 ounce one.
