Pros

The stencil on the handle is crisp, with no smudges. It has two heads with differing hardness. It is very sturdy and feels good in hand.

Good non-marring striking surfaces and a real hammer handle. Working great to lock decking into hidden fasteners without marring the decking.

Zero complaints. Solidly made and a great value. Overall satisfied and would purchase again.

Well done estwing. It’s an excellent hammer. This mallet is a champ. It's a beast.

Buy once, will last a hellof a long time with proper use. Should last me a lifetime. Would recommend. Honestly everyone needs one of these.

Cons

I have a minnie axe that is fantastic, but this mallet really disappointed me. Both sides are plastic-y and very hard. Would have returned the faulty tool but just started using it a few weeks ago.

I'm retuning to find a 24 oz that has the plastic heads of the dfh12 as i need this for cabinetry and furniture making.

Not for anything metallic as these red and yellow faces are soft.

It was a good value for the price.

This didn’t arrive in time so i bought another one at a well known big box store.

Competitiveness

Plus it’s made in usa which is a definitely better than the ones made in china.

I had a craftsman mallet, but after craftsman went out of business, i could not find a similar 12 ounce one.
