Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Epla-lite seems to be somewhere between regular pla and pla+ plus/pro filaments as far as toughness goes. This seems like the pla+ i use for indoor hooks/shelves.

The fire engine red looks so good on a daredevil cowl that i felt bad sanding it down to paint it. It's a glass bed, but i roughed it up some with a diamond scrub pad.

Cons

Would not adhere to the bed. Next 50% is thin as if it wasn't extruding enough material, and stringy. Have to use a fillet at corners or else it's going to come apart on you.

Quality

The high toughness of the material makes it perfect for creating functional prints that won't easily break.

This thing is the biggest piece of junk that often requires hours of tinkering before it'll print anything.

This filament is rather unremarkable and print decent on my bambu lab p1s.

Price

If you can get this at a good price, its a perfectly workable filament.

About what you'd expect from any discount pla.

At the discounted price i am tempted to pick up a few reels.

Great value if you have an enclosure.

Packaging/appearance

Came neatly vacuum sealed and the cardboard spool was in good shape- i personally love these eco spools as they're much easier ...  Read More

The esun fire engine red pla filament was packaged well in a vacuum sealed bag and rigid cardboard box.

The filament printed smoothly straight out of the packaging and stuck well to both smooth and rough pei build plates.

Competitiveness

Overall, esun makes some of the best filament on the market.

That said, i think i'd personally stick to pla blends that are better established, relative to their composition, even if it co...  Read More

At $15 a roll, this is a better deal than the bulk box of the brand i generally use.

I'm not really sure what "epla-lite" is, but to me it seems to be very similar to pla+.
