You can using the mode button which is the middle button on the front of the thermometer choose between reading a persons temperature or an objects temperature be that a room temperature or your oven or food or even how cold your fridge but it wont ready your freezer temperature it is to low to read with the thermometer

And you get a nice beep sound letting you know the reading has been taken when you release the temperature measurement button also when this button is pressed in you get a nice ticking sound so you know it is working and getting the reading you can of course turn the sound off via the front right button

You can also via the mode button set a fever alert level just hold in the button for two seconds then click the same button till you see on screen f3 then tap the cf key on the left and set the fever level you want via the two keys to the side of the middle mode button

Purchased this thermometer after seeing some contactless thermometers in boots which were £50£60 which seemed a lot to spend

The unit itself is robust and being its mainly pink in colour it wont frighten even the smallest child
