Quality
Wearing these have significantly improved the quality of my commute.
Sound quality is superb (audiophile level), fit is comfortable, sound isolation is great, and design is durable.
Sound quality is also pretty good and clear.
But the cable quality isn't as good.
Price
All in all they sound good for what they cost.
Packaging/appearance
But it's nice to switch out to the etymotics for a lighter more spartan sound signature.
On an iphone, you have to turn up the volume essentially all the way to get the full sound out of the er4xr.
Other than that, there is maybe a slightly discernible improvement in separation on the er4xr.
Competitiveness
Overall, i like etymotic products and i'd buy them again.
Comes with a soft carrying bag, multiple eartips, filters, and filter tool.

Be prepared for the triflange tips to deform a bit to fit your ears thats just part of using them and it doesnt seem to effect use
