Pros & Cons
Pros
Lock works off our smart phone (lock or unlock remotely) and notifies us when locked or unlocked. The wifi feature is very helpful. Use the quick start booklet. Adding finger print and or password.
This model is more affordable and has great features. The deadbolt is sturdy and overall i am very happy. Nothing to dislike beyond the price.
Cons
The eufy lock is unreliable. The sting gets jammed every second or third try. When it's jammed it takes a lot more pressure to get it moving.
The lock shows full battery life and full wifi signal strength, but has problems constantly. At least the fingerprint still works once it disconnects. The lock sits less than 12 feet from a mesh wifi router access point.
Customer service is non existent. I'm probably still in the queue after realizing they must have that many unhappy users. Can't install it without those 2 posts. They are shown in the video and the instruction book, but not included.
Next morning the same condition exists. Same thing.
Highlights
Quality
Pros: sleek, functions great, easy setup, app works great.
Good fingerprint reader, easy installation flexible app
It doesn’t connect well with wifi - which makes it impossible to create new codes at distance, very annoying (and not very smart!
It takes eight batteries and those batteries only last about six months of once a day use.
Price
Bought this lock during prime day deal and i'm so happy i did.
Although it’s a bit pricey, the quality and performance make it worth the investment.
Competitiveness
I tested many video security platforms, and eufy is the best.
I replaced a previous model that did not have wifi built-in and the install went super smooth since both were very similar.
I had another brand and while it was good this one is superiori can lock and unlock my door from anywhere!
Some difference is that new unit uses 8 aas whereas old unit uses just 4 aas.
