Pros & Cons
Pros
Good quality, long lasting car seat. Nice padding and can hold up to wear and tear. The cover fits very snug and the seat seems to be padded enough to be comfortable for him. It is a beast, but it also fits amazingly in my car.
Small side pockets for the buckles makes it very easy to buckle him in without searching for the straps and buckles! It has little spots on each side to put the strap clip each time so when you unbuckle your child you can stow the buckle clip in the p... Read More
Rear facing till 2 and then some. It reclines further than most other seats. The reclining is good for when he naps.
Our baby is almost 8 months, but quickly outgrew his infant car seat. He fits great in a gmc terrain. Toddler is happy to ride in it and naps in it just fine!
I like the cup holders with the elastic strap because they fit a variety of different sippy cup styles. Comes with side cup holders that will come in handy when he gets older. Double cup holder is nice.
Cons
There are no cushions or padding on any of the the straps that hold the baby. The latch system is awful its impossible to tighten. The headrest is flimsy and rattles, omg, how it rattles.

We bought this for our 11 months old baby and we are very happy with the design.

This one continues to get twisted up inside with the straps for unknown reasons and is a lot harder to unhook than the dlx.
****edit: if you pull the straps from the bottom instead of the top (like i’m used to with the infant carrier) they loosen.
Packaging/appearance
Then the next time you go to use the seat the straps will be out of the way and plop your lil golden nugget in no troubles.
Competitiveness
Both started out in a britax seat as infants and graduated to this around 12 months.
I researched a ton and stressed myself way out about a carseat for my first child.

He would cry when in his pumpkin seat but in this seat he only cries for a moment when putting him in there this is just because he does not like being strapped down

He falls asleep within a few minutes in this seat and sometimes before we even make it out of the parking lot

This seat was a little difficult to install just because its difficult to get it tight enough

My advice would be to just go ahead and plan on using it and putting it under the seat even if it looks level when getting ready to install

I thought it was level but once i tightened the seat i had to loosen it up and place the pool noodle under the seat and retighten the seat as it was illegal after being tightened without the pool noodle

This is a good carseat if you don’t mind flimsy cupholders that don’t really hold anything
