Pros

Sturdy & convenient to remove when not being used. Perfect for top of stairs. Stained well to somewhat match wood banister posts and railing. Keeps them downstairs.

The latch is very secure. It also closes and snaps well. Gate is very sturdy and stays latched.

Evenflo, top of stairs, extra tall gate, tan wood baby gate model# 1050500 about nine years ago. Great basic gate for top of stairs and more. You need to squeeze and pull back at the same time to pull the gate to the side.

Before installation, and periodically during use, rub some paraffin on parts that slide. Not much of a hassle though.

This is super sturdy and has withstood both of my children trying. Only con is they tend to get "saggy" over time, but it doesn't seem to effect how well it works. Hardware is nice and solid. Yes it's a little wobbly when my son was shaking it.

Great gate easy to install and can take it down easily when needed and put it right back up without unscrewing anything.

It finally gave out when two of the slats broke.

I bought a new one and the gate itself slid easily into hardware that was already mounted from the old gate.
