Pros

Seals in smell keeps out insects and starts decomposition before making the trip to the compost bin. This ensures that the pail has a tight seal when closed, meaning that odors cannot escape.

Cons

It's very cheaply constructed. The stainless steel is too thin and doesn't hold it's shape well. As other reviewers have stated, it's pretty but it falls apart.

The liner bucket is low quality plastic. Condensation gathers inside the lid and gets under the seal. The inner pail is useless.

The odors stay in and once i killed the fruit flies that were attracted by the container i had before, the fruit flies stopped coming.

Not sure this one actually holds a full gallon of liquid, but then again, compost shouldn't be a liquid!
