I got it to replace my fourtray excalibur dehydrator that finally had its heating element fail after nearly 40 years

After that time and after surviving two overseas moves during which i operated the dehydrator through a stepdown voltage transformer there were also some cracks appearing in its plastic case and there was a crack in its door

The new fivetray model is plenty big for my purposes and i am hopeful that in stainless steel it will last me at least another 40 years and if anything does go wrong with it excalibur will be around and will have the parts to repair it
