Pros & Cons
Pros
The artwork is what i would expect for such a beloved franchise. Everything is a good blend of realism and cartoon. Although it will not blow you away with any innovation, it adds enough twists of the genre to be enjoyable.
Easy to learn, fast-paced duel game with plenty of replay value. Each player has plenty of options for their turn but in a framework that makes everything pretty quick.
Deckbuilder games are a dime a dozen right now. It adds another thematic element and new mechanic to deck building games. Only complaint is that a lot of the game comes down to the luck of which cards come out of the deck.
Have a distinct rebel, empire, and neutral cards as well as actually different strategies (not enough to feel lopsided) is good for players to have a sense of uniqueness in the sides. Changes to the classic dominion mechanics include a limited market ... Read More
The game introduces a force mechanic, where the balance of the force can impact the abilities of certain cards. There is also a tracker for the force that goes back and forth.
Cons
It's honestly really disappointing. It's unfortunate, but i'd strongly recommend passing on this for now.
Highlights
Quality
The cards resist wear and tear, even without sleeves, thanks to their quality finish.
Designhigh-quality componentsthe game features sturdy cards with a linen finish that feel great in hand and shuffle smoothly.
This sounds nit-picky, but sifting through the pile of cubes for the proper color is a big waste of time.
Our star realms is worn out and instead of replacing it with new decks we'll be replacing it with this game.
Price
Overall, taken at face value this is a great game.
Very satisifying and at a price/time point that is much more accessible than the star wars miniatures games.
Nevertheless, for the purchase price it seems pretty good, as that would be on par for a pair of starter decks for any one of a... Read More

Packaging/appearance
Thoughtful packaginginside the box, components are well-organized with designated spaces, making setup and teardown efficient.
The box is compact yet sturdy, providing ample protection for the contents.
My copy even came with the darth vader card showing a bright white nick on the back, effectively making it marked!
In spite of that, the box is easily twice as large as it needs to be for what's inside.
Competitiveness
Players choose to align with either the rebel alliance or the galactic empire, each faction providing unique strategies and cards.
Some games, the galaxy row is filled with either rebels or empire, which makes the game a little unfair because one side is str... Read More
This deck builder has a lot of similarities with games like star realms/hero realms in it's game play.
I like that option, though it's usually better to just attack the other player's base.

There is also a nontrivial randomness to it with the galaxy row draws

While you can do a lot to compensate for unfavorable draws something theres just nothing to do and the game is locked in for one side

In the end its a fun game with relatively short games

It would be nice to have a 3 or 4 game mode other than just buy two sets of the game
