I asked a few questions before purchase because the manual for my dvr states to use expandable hard drives that are certified for dvr use but in my experience the word certified

I do agree with most of the other reviewers the blue light on the front is an overkill

I moved the drive so the light is behind the frames glass front on the cabinet door but when the room is dark the cabinet glows blue

Perhaps the dvr box downloaded a firmware update that fixed the problem
