Its not stainless steel and it doesnt have any lights that light up the water but its class and as far as i can tell the glass does not come in contact any plastic at the bottom near the heating element

Pros boils in about 2 minutes faster than a lot of others i was looking at mostly glass water does not touch plastic top auto shut off i think they all have thiscons lid doesnt openstay open very wide this is kinda annoying and would easily be fixed by adding a spot where the top lockssnaps in filter is useless going to just use a mesh filter ball bulky a lot more bulky than it needs to be which makes it take up more space and look ugly cannot adjust temperature would be nice but it isnt 100 either so not so much a conoverall i would buy it again bought from walmart but it is not perfect
