Pros
The additional height helps minimize the doming that the top of cakes naturally do when baked. Used the same technique after baking my first cakes soaking not scrubbing is the key. Bought these for steaming fruit cakes.
It heats perfectly evenly, browning the entire cake without underdone spots. Require a bit less cooking time & temp than darker or non stick pans. Came out perfect.
These cake pans are solidly made. I love that the sides are straight up not slanted as on some pans.

Just love the quality of baking pans as i have few from before in different sizes
So to find an 8x3 pan of such quality is wonderful
With the other brands my cakes stick to the bottom and are like lava in the middle of the cake

The lip is certainly fat but after you cut that part off the aluminum body its not really much thicker than other pans on the market
