The orange locking nuts have 2 opposing 'extended nubs' on them. The two shorter individual threaded bars turn in quite far - all the way into the center bar for added stability. They are fairly bulky but completely sufficient!
Cons
It's awful for a plethora of reasons. It's a smart idea but it’s such low weight and kinda pointless. This is not fair on the seller end.

You have to retighten sometimes but that is expected on a adjustable weight set at this price point

Works as intended but remember you cant increase its weight so remember that before you buy i use mine daily but in year might be time for me see if they sell ones with longer bars and more weights

There is a foampadded area on the center bar that would touch or rest on the back of your neck when using the bar fully extended with both arms
