Clean mating surfaces thoroughly and use sealant only in the channel of the valve cover.
I had no issues (aside from a couple hard-to-reach bolts) doing it myself and i'm by no means a professional mechanic.
Only downside to the job was the permatex on the convex portions of the cylinder head casting were a pain to scrape off.

Im writing this review because i almost didnt buy this kit even though every parts store has it through their carspecific search filters because of the video review someone else made

You can safely ignore that review as it looks like that person tried to install it upside down
