Its not quiet quiet you can hear the bearings rattle a bit im sure there is got to be some energy loss there but frankly i get tired of holding it long before it stops
The gold tone metal finish gives it the rainbox effect if you have an overhead light youll see it form into a circle mostly sort of a neon pink color some yellow etc its just a reflection but its cool
