Pros

This is the 2nd one i have had as the first wore out after two-years of daily use. This is a replacement for the original cover i purchased that lasted 7 years. I am pleased with this one.

This fits the hdx (not hd) 7 kindle fire 2013 3rd generation for sure. Fit the firehdx 7 perfectly. It fits like a glove. It fit right and was easy to install.

I love the instant on feature the old fire hdxs had. I often use it in a dark room and it's wonderful not to have to feel around for the on button. No interference with *, speakers.

Cons

This case fails as an easel on two it is awkward to set up, and barely lifts the hdx off of flat. This small overlooked aspect causes much frustration upon installation.

Case only holds kindle in a horizontal position, not standing up. Was almost impossible to get it, and when fully inserted was not wide enough to display entire screen. The 7 refers to the viewable part of the screen, the entire unit is 8 1/2 inches.

Worked great with the kindles that i have purchased for my grandsons.

I was sooo happy with the 1st cover but they do wear out eventually (my 1st cover lasted 8yrs).

The auto on/off function works just fine.
