The lid lock unlock only works when ipad is in the case and rotated so that the home button is on the right side

So i hope the pictures i took are usefulmy wifes ipad is strapped shut hers is the van gogh print cherry blossoms against an aquamarine sky and mine white marble is closed but strap is not deployed

First the manufacture may have improved this item since some of the reviews were writtenwhere the reviewers complain about the ipad slipping out of the slot

The third point is a caution i am probably not the only one to hastily nearly destroy the unit as soon as i opened the package amazon brought to my door it may appear that the envelopetype flap you see in the picture with both our ipads is the way to open the unitit is not the unit opens like a book
