I purchased this item to hoist deer from my side by side

I unpackaged it plugged it in and it froze up after about a second

I was about to rebox it and send it back but i noticed that the bottom of the black plastic housing covering the fan was jammed in and not centered

I removed the cover and discovered that it had made contact with the fan and caused the motor to freeze

Without a load the cable gets completely tangled up unless you physically guide the cable while lifting

If i had it to do all over i would buy a hoist with a much larger lift capacity
