Pros & Cons
Pros
This flask is just as it's advertised, and works great for making yeast starters when brewing. The shape makes for easier cleaning (using a bottle brush) than the sensuously curved traditional decanter.
The real deal, decent weight borosilicate glass, not the paper-thin stuff from not-the-usa. They hold up in the dishwasher and can take a decent amount of *. Very durable and strong.
Highlights
Quality
Seems durable, goes straight from boil to ice bath with no issues.
Glass is sturdy enough to not shatter when bumped.
I rather have 2 x 2000 ml than handling and storing a 5000 ml one!
I have not boiled in it since i'm typically making a starter from grain, or previously pressure canned.
Price
Exactly as described; this is the real deal.
Cost more but was the right choice
94 and was cheaper than everywhere else i looked.
Shipping
It arrived on time, well packed and undamaged.
Packaging/appearance
Then it's off to the stir plate with a packet of yeast.
The pyrex flask arrived in great condition.
