Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

The box liner has vortex optics logos on inside and instruction sheet. There seems to be no problem on my picatinny rail, even after sight-in use on range. It aligns perfectly with the rifle.

It's made of good aluminum, the coatings are scratch-resistant, and the qd mechanism functions flawlessly. It can be a crapshoot with chinese-made products with regards to build quality. Seems well made & sturdy.

Adjustable latch tensions help you get a snug fit at your desire with small pins protruding out of the bottom of the frame. Locking latches help prevent from accidental releasing while carrying the rifle on a sling or bumping into brush, etc.

Cons

The latch on the lever is no longer holding. The thumb nuts that allow for clamp tension adjustment on the opposite side are way too loose.

The black finish seems very thin. The scope ring screws were covered with metal shavings from the poor threading of the base. Be careful. Not going to put a six- thousand-dollar thermal scope in these rings.

Quality

Great product that wont let your scope slip or rotate, and is quickly removable.

Seems very well built my scope fit in it nicely easy install

I realize it can be a crapshoot with chinese-made products with regards to build quality, and i may just have gotten lucky with this mount.

It's made from rugged materials that hold up well to all but the worst abuse.

Price

Has all the adjustments as a burris at half the price.

If this mount were more expensive, i'd rate it a 4, but because it is such a fantastic value, it gets a 5.

For the price it works great with no weak points.

Imho, this is good value for the money.

Packaging/appearance

Came with 1 railed ring cap if that is something you need (i didn't).

While i did lap the rings, i noticed that they seemed very concentric out of the box.

Competitiveness

Better than buying larue and getting the same thing.

But for weekend warriors going to the range or even some friendly competitive shooting, this will work.

Wouldnt count on it to come off than reattach and hold zero

Basically is double locked on both the nuts and the latches

One problem in general appears to be the thin bearing surface of the top clamp half

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The grade 8 cap screws will push through and shear out the counterbored section because these are hardened steel running against a thin aluminum section under the screw head

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Top scope clamp half should be made of steel instead of aluminum

Then with a push of the button and a flip of the levers

Then just put the scope back onand its back to zero
